This never ending road to cavalry.
These men who seem to know my crime
will surely come a second time.
One day more.

I did not live until today.
How can I live when we are parted?
Tomorrow you'll be worlds away
and yet, with you my world has started...

~OVERDRAMATIC~

But, seriously, officially one more day (+ around 22 hours) till I see FOTC again!!!! Even less than that till I'm actually IN Philly with my friends! Woo! ♥

I did really well and wrote my Hawthorne/Thoreau paper before The Office, so I don't have any more actual homework to worry about. Still have to critique a story tomorrow night, but that hardly counts.

Aklvskb!!!!

DAY MEME, DAY #4:
"Did you get a haircut? It's cute!" & "You are quite a talent. Laughing til it hurts over your vlogs!"

:D Two separate people.

I actually have a lot of reasons to be happy today. It was a good day. *insert rainbow here*

HAPPY DAY MEME, DAY #3:

"'The falcon cannot hear the falconer.' That makes me think of Will Forte."

It's been a pretty good, productive day, despite the cold rain. My American Lit professor can't push our third paper back past Monday and I was like D: because there's no way I'd be able to write it this weekend. But I can write it tomorrow!

I critiqued the story that's being workshopped on Friday today, so I'm all set for that class. I'll have to critique another story on Friday night for Monday, but I think I can read and critique before the concert... I just can't focus enough to write a paper. You know?

All other classes are no problem. :]

It just feels so weird to already have Friday's story critiqued. Now I don't know what to force myself unwillingly to do for the night. XD I'm not even gonna think about the paper till tomorrow... Four pages on Hawthorne and another author I can think of to compare Hawthorne to. Maybe Thoreau, but that would be weird.

When my professor asked me if I liked Thoreau, I so felt like saying. "Yeah! His descriptions are very thoreau." Y'know... like "thorough"...

But I didn't actually say it.

I was tagged by [info]xxsmoothopexx. ♥

If you want to play, comment and I will give you five words (or things) that I associate with you. Then, you must post and explain them.

1. Shih Tzus

The dog breed that is the most fun to say! I always thought it was spelt "shitzu". I think that's a common mistake. They're just so fuzzy. They remind me a LOT of Fizzgig from The Dark Crystal.

I love animals. :) Even Muppet ones...

2. Bret McKenzie

Ohhhh... What can I say that I already haven't said 8,000 times? Bret makes me happier than anyone else in the world. I discovered him at the right time in my life, and he's inspired me and helped me to become a person that I actually like. He was the handsomest man I'd ever seen, too, but then I touched him. ;) Now he's the handsomest man I've ever touched.

3. Vlogs

I used to think that my life was not exciting enough to have a vlog. But then, over Christmas break of this year, I discovered Five Awesome Girls and they inspired me to give it a try. I've found that it's a great way to make my friends laugh and let them know what I'm up to. It's also fun to see the kinds of craziness that I come up with when I've not written anything down. XD

4. Writers/Writing

Writing is in my blood. I've been writing since I was around seven years old, but even before that I would make up stories and tell them verbally. I always have a notepad of some kind and a stash of writing impliments with me wherever I go. I write novels, short stories, vingettes, scenes and plays. I'm even working on a screenplay. When I first came to school, I was a theatre major, but it never felt quite right. I was never really into acting, as much as I may have wanted to be at the time... After sophomore year, I changed my major to English and I really haven't looked back. It was one of the best decisions of my life. :) Now I get to write my heart out and read amazing works by writers I may never have explored before. It makes me happy.

5. Ukuleles

Oh, my love! My joy! My ellusive instrument! George Harrison was the first ukulele player I ever loved. He really inspired me and started off my love of the sound of this four-stringed baby. Next was Pete Townshend. When I first heard "The Blue, Red & Gray", I started crying because it was (and is still) so, so beautiful. I had tried my hand at the guitar before, but was unsuccessful, so I'd never thought of actually attempting to learn the uke. Then, I found out that Bret McKenzie played it. Going back to his explanation briefly-- MAN, did that make me love him more?! Every facet of him just makes me want to skip down a hill of pink flowers and... cuddle bunnies. XD Back to the uke. My FA friends and I started one-by-one buying ukuleles and we have formed an online band, even. I bought a $50 light blue Makala uke with a dolphin on it, and I am now madly in love with it. I'm no pro at it, but I can play a few songs and that alone, for me, is an accomplishment. :) It all started with George, but Bret gave me the big push.

This made my day. ♥

NOTE TO FELLOW FOTC FANS: I PROMISE THAT I WOULD NEVER POST SPOILERS ON HERE WITHOUT PLACING THEM BEHIND A CUT AND GIVING YOU A WARNING. I'M TOO NICE TO DO THAT. BESIDES, I KNOW THAT MOST, IF NOT ALL, OF YOU COULD KICK MY ASS.

First, there was the dancing. Now there's skeletons?! This season seems like it's going to be very different, but a good kind of different. :D It also seems like they had more fun, which matters the most to me.

Time for a poetry meme again! Because my result last time disappointed me. :P

Play your MP3 player and write the first line of the first 20 songs, in poem format. The 21st song is the title. :D

There's Children On The Street

Well, since my baby left me
Why try? Know why?
It's a little bit funny
A man's got a heart, hasn't he?

I'm singing in the rain
Lives are like retractable pencils
Oh, the little white road climbs over the hill
I'm fixing a hole where the rains gets in

Now, all the king's horses and all the king's men
I could've been a sailor, I could've been a cook
Too many mutha uckers, uckin' with my shii
In this life, one thing counts

I, I wish you could swim
He's five foot two and he's six feet four
Deaf, dumb and blind boy, he's in a quiet vibration land
I guess I should have stayed in bed

No time, no time at all.
I'm waiting at the end of your garden
I met you before the West was won
Take my hand, Paree

...It still makes no sense. XD

What Be Your Nerd Type?
Your Result: Literature Nerd

Does sitting by a nice cozy fire with a cup of hot tea/chocolate and a book you can read for hours, even when your eyes grow red and dry and you look sort of scary sitting there with your insomniac appearance, sound good to you? Then you fit this category perfectly! You love the power of the written word and its eloquence; and you may like to read/write poetry or novels. You contribute to the smart people of today's society, however you can probably be overly-critical of works.

It's okay. I understand.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, now that that's out of my system...

FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS ARE COMING TO MY CITY MAY 9TH!!!

I am so there. I am so there. My dad's going to help me get tickets, and he and my mom are going to come too. :) I don't think I've ever said it before, but I LOVE MY PARENTS. ♥!

Calming down is not an option right now. I've felt butterflies since last night when I found out about this. I've been kind of flighty (pun semi-intended) and unable to concentrate on anything. Heh heh heh.

Also, in other wonderful news:

+ I got Bret's Prototype CD and listened to it 5 times yesterday, before adding it to my iTunes and iPod. :) I love it! "Slip Away" makes me cry happy, "awww" tears.
+ I signed up for next fall's classes and FINALLY got into both Playwriting and Science of Light & Sound. After 4 years of trying. YAYZ!
+ Jemaine Clement is a sweetheart.

That last point never changes. ^_^

I watched Back To The Future (le first one) last night, to try to calm down. It didn't really work, but I do love that movie. Especially Lea Thompson as Marty's mom. She was so cute. XD

Finally, here's a meme. Those are always fun.

I hope you're all well. :D Thank you muchly for the kind birthday wishes. I still don't feel 21, though. I feel 12.

I think Kathy was right. We need a sitcom. Our lives are that funny. Seriously.

Me: Chinese food?
Kathy: After we get index cards.
Me: Index cards and then Chinese food??
Kathy: Yes.

Kathy: [looking around for her car, confused]
Me: [pointing] Over there.
Kathy: How do you do that?
Me: It's a gift. A gift I gave myself.

Kathy: That's pretty creepy, Sara.
Me: [sings in Bowie voice] That's pretty freaky, Bowie.
Kathy: [dies]

Me: I think there's honey in General Tso's sauce.
Kathy: That reminds me of a story. But you're eating, so I'll wait.
Me: Is it gross?
Kathy: Kind of.
Me: Okay. [finishes eating] Okay, I'm done.
Kathy: Oh, it was so funny. I had cabin fever over Thanksgiving break, so I randomly started singing. And my dad was like "...Um."
Me: ...Um...That's your gross story?
Kathy: What?
Me: You said I had to finish eating before you could tell me a story.
Kathy: Oh, that wasn't it.
Me: ...Okay.
Kathy: [looks awkwardly at me]
Me: [awkwardly looks back] ...Wow.

Kathy: [after singing "All I Want For Christmas Is You"] Ahh, that's my favorite Christmas song.
Me: My favorite Christmas song is better.
Kathy: What's your favorite Christmas song?
Me: "The Christmas Song".
Kathy: ...
Me ...

Most of our conversations end with "..." It's pretty amusing.

Today, it was so balmy outside. I didn't know this until I was already outside, wearing my thick red coat and some snow boots. Yeeeah. When I got back to my room, my coat was in my backpack and my ankles were on fire. I actually frowned like a little kid and said "Boots were a bad idea." XD To no one but the pictures of Bret, Davy and Kevin on my walls.

I wrote my paper today, too. It took approximately 5 hours. 5 hours of sitting here trying to figure out what the flip to say that hadn't already been said five sentences ago. The number of the day is 5. If you couldn't tell.

When I finished my paper, I told Tana "I want to put my head in a bucket of ice." And she said "That doesn't sound fun." XD She's so blunt.

That's pretty much all for now, my loves. OH YEAH, RANDOM FOTC VIDEO!!

I lub dos guyz.

Comment on this post and I'll give you a band. Don't worry, I'll make it one you know and love. You put your ten favorite songs by that band on your lj and in reply to the comment, then challenge others to do the same.

I was given The Who:

1. "Whiskey Man" by Johnny E
2. "The Quiet One" by Johnny E
3. "Success Story" by Johnny E
4. "Boris The Spider" by Johnny E
5. "A Quick One (While He's Away)" by Petey T
6. "The Blue, Red and Gray" by Petey T
7. "Long Live Rock" by Petey T
8. "Silas Stingy" by Johnny E
9. "Endless Wire" by Petey T
10. "I've Been Away" by Johnny E

I just got a package from my parents! It had lots of bathroom supplies, Pheffernusse cookies and bras in it. XD My mom said she was sending me part of my St. Nicholas Day present in the box and it was bras. Bras for ho ho hos. I have a sneaking suspicion that the other part is The Kids in the Hall: Season Two though. She told me to expect a box from Amazon.

My Brit Lit professor moved our paper due date to Tuesday, which means I'll have more time to work on that one. Which is kind of bad for the Procrastinator. But it'll be okay. I'm hoping to work some on my American Novel paper and my short story for Italian Lit tonight. We'll see how that goes.

I've also decided that the YouTube video pick will be happening on Stuff & Nonsense from now on. It won't be a video pick of the day. More like monthish. But that's okay. I'm thinking about having a YouTube Sketch of the Month on my KITH section eventually, too. Would that be cool?

I think that's all for now. I'll be hanging out with Kathy and Liz tonight. I always hang out with Kathy, don't I? XD It's so FUN. She's the Dave to my Kevin and the Jemaine to my Bret.

Until next time, have a great day!

Ugh! My sister and Doug and Mele just left. We played Trivial Pursuit and no one won. And we had Mexican food followed by chocolate cookie dough ice cream cake.

...I'm gonna die.

But my sister loved her present from me. She said "This is a dirty book!" ^_^ It's a book with photographs of fruits and vegetables having sex, killing each other, etc. Fun-oh.

Giahn's feeling better but he's spending the night in the hospital again. His fever keeps going away and coming back. But he can eat bland foods now. And he's been playing video games. But he missed Jenn's birthday and is sad. Poor Giahn.

Soap operas supply endless amusement. Examples:

“You’re going to sleep with Will, hoping he won’t notice and praying that he can’t count to nine!”
"I can't call him because he's in a coma!"
"Well, congratulations. You saved the damsel in distress. Chivalry is not dead. Now get out of my face."
"Alison, we've been through a fire in a barn. We've run from the cops. We've been in jail. Come on, compared to that, what's marriage? Gotta be a piece of cake."
"Give it a few weeks. I've got to tell you something, I've got some irons in the fire. My ship is coming in. I can see a silver lining in that cloud that's been hanging over me for so long. I'm all out of clichés, baby. But I think you get my drift, don't you?"
"Face it, Emily. Shooting your fiance is a definite turnoff."
"I know that orange is the new black, but those jumpsuits make my butt look enormous."
"They got married in the cell. It was everything a mother could hope for, cement floors, iron bars, armed guards, and a son-in-law who's a murderer."

...I want to write for As The World Turns, man. I'm the master of the witty-but-slightly-dumb dialogue. :)

There was one line that I completely loved. But I wrote it down on a piece of paper and I can't find it anywhere. *sighs* Oh well.

Anyway. Sorry. I'm a nerd.

I tried to make a voice post of me singing "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again" but my phone hates me. :( Now I'll all in tune and ready to sing but no one can hear me. I might buy a cheapish microphone when I go shopping this evening. Then I can try again. Not that you're really missing much. But I do love that song.

Here's a meme that I actually filled out last night...I was ever so bored.

where i was last year )

more exciting )

Yep, that was definitely funnier.

Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again
You were once my one companion
You were all that mattered
You were once a friend and father
Then my world was shattered

Wishing you were somehow here again
Wishing you were somehow near
Sometimes it seemed if I just dreamed
Somehow you would be here

Wishing I could hear your voice again
Knowing that I never would
Dreaming of you won't help me to do
All that you dreamed I could

Passing bells and sculpted angels
Cold and monumental
Seem, for you, the wrong companions
You were warm and gentle

Too many years fighting back tears
Why can't the past just die?

Wishing you were somehow here again
Knowing we must say goodbye
Try to forgive, teach me to live
Give me the strength to try!

No more memories
No more silent tears
No more gazing across
the wasted years...

Help me say goodbye...
Help me say goodbye.
